Spurgeons is one of the UK's leading children's charities, firmly supported by Christian beliefs and values, helping to support disadvantaged children and their families through delivering projects to support children, young people, their families and communities to find long-lasting solutions to the challenges they face.

We are passionate about the work we do and need equally committed members on our team to help us achieve those goals.

We have various tasks available including:

  • Support families in developing play opportunities with their children.

  • Support Early Years team in the setting up and setting down of activities

  • Contribute to provide a healthy, safe, responsive, caring, stimulating and secure environment for the children.

  • Support the Early Years team in delivering the activity session

  • Contribute to planning activities

  • Take turns in providing refreshments out of donations given

  • Pass on any safeguarding concerns to your Manager (CEVco) or member of staff

  • Support the reception area for The Children’s Centre ie answering the telephone, answering enquiries face to face, when required.

  • Undertake administrative duties such as word processing, filing, data recording.

  • Deal sensitively with general enquiries made to the Children’s Centre.

  • Provide a warm, welcoming and professional approach to users of the Children’s Centre. Provide admin services to colleagues.

  • Oversee and encourage use of the toy and book library.

  • Sign post families to relevant services

  • Support with creating regular news letters.

  • display information in the centres showing what groups and activities we are running

  • Attend the Children’s Centre Partnership Advisory Board on a termly basis

  • To work within all Spurgeons policies and procedures as outlined in the induction, paying particular attention to the safeguarding of children and confidentiality
