Spurgeons Birmingham Young Carers Unite Project supports young people in Birmingham aged between 0 and 18 who have a caring role for someone in their home due to illness, disability or addiction and this often means that the young person themselves experiences disadvantage.We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people we serve. This post is subject to necessary safeguarding checks including an appropriate level DBS Disclosure.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Be part of the team.
  • Be positive and encouraging to the young people.
  • Report any concerns to your point of contact.
  • Provide support and information at an age appropriate level.
  • Produce written reports on all meetings with young people, colleagues and professionals ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Be available for supervision sessions and relevant training.
  • Assist with Filing and Photocopying
  • Data inputting/Assisting with quarterly monitoring
  • Update case files
  • Generate outgoing letters and flyers.
  • Answer phones/emails
  • Inventory
  • General office based tasks.

Person Specification

  • Ability to communicate with young people.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, caring and non judgemental.
  • Ability to use own initiative but also be part of a team.
  • Commitment to the service
