Our children’s centres are places where all families with young children are able to find the advice and support that they need to be healthy and happy. They are busy and lively, and our energetic staff reflects the diversity of our communities. While you will not be working directly with families, your administrative support skills will have a real impact both on your colleagues and our clients.

We are looking for a Welcomer/ Administrator to be the first point of contact for families and visitors telephoning or coming to the centres in West Wiltshire. A confident and welcoming manner is essential, as is the ability to multi-task. Your working day will be varied and could include; using your Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook) to produce different documents, registering families and their attendance on to the children’s centre database, and keeping an eye on the tidiness of the information displays around the centre. You will have a good eye for detail, and be happy working to standard procedures around data entry and collation, which will assist senior members of staff to produce statistical reports for our commissioners.

Spurgeons will help you every step of the way in your role, making sure that you feel supported and providing you with training and experience to further your administration career. If you can provide the passion, flexibility and willingness to learn that we need as a charity, we can offer you an administrative experience like no other.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people we serve. This post is subject to necessary safeguarding checks including an appropriate level DBS Disclosure.

Spurgeons is a Living Wage Employer.

Please send your completed application form to recruitment@spurgeons.org if you wish to be considered for this vacancy.

Please note if you do not hear from us within two weeks after the closing date we are afraid that you have not been successful on this occasion.

Testimonial

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“The shop, the barn, the scullery, and the smithy become temples when men and women do all to the glory of God. The 'divine service' is not a thing of a few hours and a few places, but all life becomes holiness unto the Lord, and every place and thing, as consecrated as the tabernacle and its golden candlestick.
