Can anyone come to one of Spurgeons’ Children’s Centres and is it free? +
If you are pregnant or have a child/children under 5 years old, you’re welcome to attend one of our centres and book on any number of courses – and yes it’s completely free. Visit our Find a Centre or Project page to discover the details of your nearest centre or see our Children’s Centre page for more information about the support we offer for both mums and dads.
I’m ill and my child is having to care for me, do I have to apply to a special programme for us to get help from Spurgeons? +
Not at all. We run a wide range of groups for children to attend up and down the country, offer one-to-one and family support and a telephone support service, all of which can be accessed very quickly. Visit our Young Carers page or dedicated website to learn how to get help straightaway.
My partner / family member has been sent to prison and I’m worried about my child coping with the stress, where can I turn? +
Turn to us. We offer support for the whole family and can provide someone for your child to speak to about their feelings. We also have a number of child focused visitor centres in London prisons, enabling children to have a positive experience when visiting a prison. Visit our Prisons pages and we’ll help you and your child feel less overwhelmed by the changes.
My daughter / son is about to become a mum / dad at a young age. I can’t be there all the time so can anyone help them to learn how to become the parent I know they want to be? +
We offer support to mums and dads 20 years of age and under, and work with their whole family, so we’ll be supporting you as well as them. Teenagers often feel excluded and vulnerable, and want the best for their children like any new parent, so we deliver programmes to teach them the new skills they require. Visit our Teenage Parents page for more information.
I don’t have much spare money, but I have time to donate to help some children in need. Can I help Spurgeons? +
Of course you can. Please visit our Volunteering page as we are always looking for new people to help run services, be mentors and even assist with jobs like administration.
I’m taking part in an event where I can be sponsored, can I raise money for Spurgeons? +
Absolutely! We would love you to support us and help us help even more young people. Contact the Fundraising team on 01933 417388 or email email@example.com and let us know about your event.
Do you need me to sign up to donate a monthly amount? +
Not at all. We appreciate donations from everyone and for any amount. So whether you can spare £5 as a one off contribution, provide regular donations by direct debit, want to speak to us about a donation from your business or gift Spurgeons something from your will we’re grateful for every bit of your support. Please visit our Donations page for more information.
