our safeguarding policy
Spurgeons places the safeguarding of children at the heart of our work. The principles which underpin our commitment to Safeguarding are:
- the safety and well being of children and young people is paramount
- children and young people have a right to protection from neglect, abuse and exploitation
- children and young people have the right to be protected from discrimination and to be valued as individuals
- safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
Our practice and policies underpin these responsibilities and we have robust internal processes that enable us to promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement in our safeguarding work. We have invested in a central post of Safeguarding Advisor, in order to provide specialist advisory support and lead in developing a culture of listening to children, which is closely linked to the safeguarding of children.
