Church Christmas DVD Resource
Spurgeons’ Christmas DVD resource has been flying off the shelves this year with over 6,000 copies going out to school and church groups across the country. The DVD tells the well known and loved Christmas story in all its thrill filled glory – but with a twist!
There’s a version of the story that we all know - a young couple, a little baby, the kindness of strangers, the humility of shepherds and kings traversing from afar? But what of the forgotten story? The real Christmas story is fast and dirty and dangerous. It’s a thriller, a road movie, a romance – it’s a Great Escape.
Recalling the adventure
The DVD is complemented by resources that can be downloaded from the bespoke website and they include sessions for children, young people and congregations, a powerpoint slideshow and a fundraising challenge - everything youth groups need to recall and share the adventure of this most beautiful of seasons.
Supporting children
All these resources align the Christmas story with the real life stories of children and young people who Spurgeons supports through its work. It also aids reflection on the reality of the Christmas story and how Jesus’ escape from the murderous swords of Herod led to mankind’s own great escape from sin.
The DVD also includes an appeal from Director of Marketing, Lynne Morris, encouraging groups that use these resources to fundraise or collect contributions to support our work. This year the resource is hoped to raise £135,000 for our vital work to support children and young people.
